In Feu, Chanchal Chowdhury plays the role of Sunil, a photographer. Recently, he spoke to the media about his experience working on the series. The plot is rooted in history and a unique backdrop, where Sunil captures various events with his camera, enriching the storyline.

Chanchal Chowdhury shared his thrilling and challenging experience of shooting Feu in the Sundarbans. He mentioned that they had to work in severe cold weather. The shoot lasted nearly a month, out of which he spent over 20 days deep in the Sundarbans.

Sleeping on the boat at night was particularly tough. “Due to the cold, we had to sleep wearing thick clothes. Even then, it was hard to stay warm,” Chanchal said.

The most terrifying experience, however, was the presence of crocodiles. “Our boat was anchored where crocodiles would often roam around. In the morning, looking out of the window, we could see crocodiles along with various animals and birds,” he shared.

To reach the shooting spot, they had to travel on small trawlers, which were quite dangerous. Shooting at night was particularly difficult. The team had to continue their work battling fear and the cold in the heart of nature.

Although the series draws inspiration from the historical massacre that took place in Marichjhapi, South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal between January and May 1979, Feu is primarily a fictional series.

Sukarna Sahed Dhiman and Romel Rahman played key roles in crafting the storyline, while Sukarna Sahed Dhiman and Siddiq Ahmed developed the screenplay.

While based on historical events, the story is not a mere reconstruction of history. It blends the authors’ personal observations, known incidents, and the lifestyle of their own region with the realities of that time.

This fusion has elevated the series beyond just a historical recounting, offering it a fresh dimension. Through the connection between history and fiction, the series presents a unique work of art that will take viewers into a terrifying chapter of the past while keeping them engaged with its fictional presentation.

The trailer of the series shows a boat speeding through the glow of a setting sun. A young man sits alone on the boat, seemingly on a journey toward an unknown destination. Through a dialogue in the trailer, the reason for his pursuit becomes clear—he wants to find out whether his father is still alive.

This question marks the beginning of the main storyline. In this quest to unravel the mystery, the young man Daniel takes the lead. His friend Sohel joins him on this journey. As they venture deeper, hidden fragments of a forgotten history gradually come to light.

With every step, they uncover horrifying truths from the past, which affected not just individuals but an entire society. Blending mystery and reality, this story takes viewers down the dark alleys of history.
