The young actress received much praise for her role opposite Kolkata’s superstar Dev in the movie Khadan. The film achieved major success at the box office, and its song Kishori became widely popular.
Following the success of Khadan, Idhika has teamed up with Dev again for another movie titled Raghu Dakat. The film is being produced by SVF and directed by Dhrubo Banerjee. West Bengal’s popular actress Sohini Sarkar is also part of the cast.
It is yet to be revealed which roles Sohini and Idhika will play. The film’s official launch ceremony took place on Saraswati Puja. Although the movie was announced four years ago, its production had been delayed for various reasons.
The shooting of Raghu Dakat will take place in both West Bengal and Maharashtra. It is expected to be released during this year’s Durga Puja celebrations.
In 2022, West Bengal actress Idhika Pal made her big-screen debut with the movie Priyotoma, directed by Himel Ashraf. Her pairing with Shakib Khan became a superhit. Following the film’s success, producers from West Bengal began showing interest in her.
Recently, Idhika shot for the movie Barbad in Mumbai, where she once again collaborated with Shakib Khan. According to Idhika, some scenes of the film are yet to be completed. It is expected to be released during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr.
Idhika first appeared on the small screen through Zee Bangla’s popular series Rimli. Later, she won audiences’ hearts by playing the role of Ranja, the second lead heroine, in another hit Zee Bangla series Pilu.
Idhika Pal gained considerable popularity by starring in just two Bengali television series in Kolkata. Since the conclusion of Pilu, she has not appeared in any other TV serials. Fans are eagerly waiting to see her back on the small screen. Idhika has stated that she is open to returning if offered a suitable role.
Although Idhika has not made her big-screen debut in her home country, her entry into Bangladesh’s film industry was nothing short of grand. In her first film, she starred alongside Dhallywood’s top actor, Shakib Khan. The songs from the movie became hugely popular on social media, and even Indian YouTubers have praised Idhika’s performance.
Within just three years of starting her career, Idhika Pal had the chance to star alongside Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan. This came as a surprise to many Indians. Initially, Idhika didn’t have a large fan base in West Bengal, but the release of Priyotoma changed the scenario.
In an interview, Idhika said, “People have both good and bad sides. Just as they will praise me, they will also criticize me. Right now, I’m not thinking much about these things. I’m prepared to accept both. I know what I need to do — give my best and keep doing good work. That’s where I’m focusing my energy. My only goal now is to make those who criticize me find reasons to appreciate my work.”
Idhika Pal further shared that she was extremely nervous before the shooting of Priyotoma. It was her first film, and that too in a different country. The biggest challenge for her was sharing the screen with superstar Shakib Khan!
