In the movie Borbad, directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, Kolkata’s television villain actress Riya Gangopadhyay will play a significant role. She will appear as the sister of the heroine Idhika Paul. Riya has already completed shooting for the film in Kolkata and Mumbai, and she will soon join the rest of the filming in Bangladesh.
When asked if Shakib Khan, the superstar actor of Bangladesh, will play her husband, and how their chemistry will be on screen, Riya smiled gently and said, “I won’t say anything right now. But it’s okay—how I will appear, everyone will see on the screen. However, I can say that I will be in an important role.”
When asked how she will appear as Idhika’s sister, Riya has not provided a clear answer yet. However, rumors in the Tollywood industry suggest that she will appear without makeup, showcasing her natural long braid and dark circles under her eyes. In the scenes with Idhika, her look will be entirely natural. Although she hasn’t shared many details about the character, Riya jokingly mentioned that she will be fully made up when taking pictures with Shakib Khan.
Regarding Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul, Riya said, “I haven’t met Shakib Bhai yet. But I hope to meet him in the new year and have many conversations. I’ve developed a good relationship with Idhika in a very short time. We are playing the roles of two sisters, and the character is very sweet. The shooting has taken place in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bangladesh.”
Riya Gangopadhyay shared that the past year was a special experience for her, and she is grateful for every moment of it. Though her life was dark just a couple of months ago, where she spent her days shedding tears, the situation has completely changed now. She feels filled with new excitement, enthusiasm, and hope. Riya believes the arrival of 2025 will open new doors of opportunity in her life, and she hopes this year will never disappoint her.
Actress Riya says she no longer wants to dwell on the bad moments of her past. Although there has been growing distance with her husband, she made sure their two children didn’t feel it. Currently, she wants to focus on her work and family, and to organize her life more. She is making this new beginning with Shakib Khan’s movie.
