On Monday, the team released the song and trailer of Neel Shukh at a hotel in the capital. They also announced that the OTT platform Binge will release the film on February 18, in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Mehazabien Chowdhury shared, “For Valentine’s Day, we plan many things, which usually start from the 7th. This year, we planned to bring something different in terms of romance, and that’s how I ended up working on Neel Shukh. Although it’s made for Valentine’s Day, the filmmakers will release it after the occasion. They decided this because many contents are released around Valentine’s Day, and if all of them come out at the same time, viewers won’t be able to enjoy them properly. Therefore, we’ve decided to release it a few days later, so that the audience can enjoy it fully.”

Director Vicky Zahed’s works are typically a blend of mystery and frightening events. Violence becomes an essential element in his films and series, with the use of sharp weapons like knives or daggers. For example, elements of violence were clearly present in projects like Punarjanmo, Redrum, and The Silence. Notably, Mehazabien Chowdhury has acted in each of these projects.

At the trailer launch event, Mehazabien Chowdhury, with a smile, said, “I’ve worked on numerous projects with Vicky Zahed, in fact, it’s hard to count how many times I’ve worked with him. The use of sharp weapons like knives and daggers is very common in his works. After doing so many of these kinds of projects, honestly, I’ve developed a certain fascination for them. Now, whenever I do any work, I always feel like something terrifying, like a knife or a dagger, will be involved—that’s how it feels.

However, Mehazabien added, “But after seeing today’s song and trailer, the audience can certainly expect something romantic. The film has many layers, which will provide a completely different experience. Those who are looking for something romantic will undoubtedly enjoy it, and those who want something a little different or unique will enjoy it as well.”

In Neel Shukh, Mehazabien Chowdhury plays the character Arpa, and Faruk Ahmed plays Rehan Maruf. This is their first experience working together.

The film includes the song “Koto Bar Bhebhechinu Apon Bhuliya” by Rabindranath Tagore, sung by Najmun Munira Nancy, with music arrangement by Shahriar Marcel.

Director Vicky Zahed dedicates the web film to the late novelist and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed, whom he holds in deep respect. The film will be released on the OTT platform Binge. This marks the first time in his career that Vicky Zahed has dedicated a project to Humayun Ahmed.

Vicky Zahed said, I’ve had a long-standing desire to dedicate one of my works to Humayun Sir. Now, finally, this has become possible, and it’s a moment of great joy for me.
