Storyline : Nawab Sirajuddaula was the last independent ruler of Bengal. He became Nawab at a young age. He tried to stop the British from gaining power in Bengal. But many of his own men were not loyal to him. During the Battle of Plassey in 1757, his commander Mir Jafar betrayed him. Because of this betrayal, Sirajuddaula lost the battle. The British East India Company took control of Bengal after that. This was the beginning of British rule in India. Sirajuddaula’s defeat was a big loss for Bengal. His story is remembered as a sad chapter in Indian history.
