Leena and Shaibal’s upcoming film will bring Srabanti and Jishu together to work for the first time. Dev confirmed this news, also making it clear that he is not part of the project.
Dev is currently enjoying the success of his film Khadan, which has crossed the milestone of 20 crore at the box office. He is the only actor in Tollywood whose three films have made it into this exclusive club. What’s even more impressive is that, in the history of Bengali cinema’s box office, only Dev’s films occupy the top three spots in terms of the highest earnings.
Khadan has already completed 50 days at the box office, and amidst this success comes an exciting update. Renowned directors Leena Gangopadhyay and Shaibal Banerjee have chosen Dev to star in their upcoming film. The producer of the film will be Atanu Raychaudhuri, who previously produced successful films like Tonic and Prajapati. In this movie, Dev will be acting alongside popular actors Jishu and Srabanti.
Fans of the Dev-Srabanti duo are eagerly excited, as they will get to see them together once again after a long time. When the two stars are seen together in this film, their fans will surely be delighted. Additionally, the pairing of Dev and Jishu, especially after Khadan, has become even more appealing, which has increased the audience’s anticipation for the film.
On Saturday, Dev ended all speculation and clearly stated that he is not part of the film. However, he confirmed that Jishu and Srabanti will be working together in the film. While promoting Khadaan, Dev said, “No, I am not in that film. I know the story. There were many discussions with Atanuda, but somehow I ended up in Khadan. Jishuda and Srabanti are the ones working in that film. I’m not part of it, and my production company is not connected to that project either. But I wish them all the best.”
Although Dev clarified his non-participation in the film, he didn’t forget to extend his best wishes to Jishu and Srabanti.
Srabanti and Jishu have never worked together before, so this new pairing is sure to be an exciting experience for the audience. Leena Gangopadhyay and Shaibal Banerjee typically showcase complex stories revolving around love, family, and relationships in their films, and rumors suggest that this film will deeply explore psychological aspects. Earlier, Dev worked with Leena and Shaibal in the film Sanjhbati. In 2021, Leena and Shaibal announced Khelaghar with Dev, Srabanti, and Paoli, but the film has yet to be released. As a result, the Dev-Srabanti pairing has been missing from the big screen for a long time. They previously worked together in films like Sedin Dekha Hoyechhilo, Dujone, Bindass, and Buno Haans. Their last film together was Shudhu Tomar Ei Jonyo, released during Durga Puja in 2015. Even after a decade, the audience’s hopes of seeing them together again remain unfulfilled.
Currently, Dev is busy with the work on his upcoming big-budget film Raghu Dakait. The film is produced by SVF and will release during the Puja season. His co-stars in the film will be Idhika Pal and Sohini Sarkar. Additionally, Dev has Prajapati 2 in the pipeline, a film directed by Abhijit Sen, set to release this Christmas.
