For over a decade and a half, Mehazabien Chowdhury has enriched her acting career by portraying romantic and challenging roles. Her remarkable performances in dramas have earned her a permanent place in the hearts of viewers, establishing her as one of the top stars of Bangladesh’s television industry. Toward the end of last year, her captivating performance in the lead role of the film Priyo Maloti, directed by Shankhadas Gupta, won the admiration and love of audiences.
Many viewers have remarked that her portrayal of Maloti might be deserving of a National Film Award, though only time will tell. Early in her career, Mehazabien had the opportunity to work with star and superstar actors.
Later, she collaborated with emerging talents, encouraging them on their journey to success. This time, she shared the screen with newcomer Rehan.
Farukh Ahmed Rehan had the privilege of working alongside Mehazabien for the first time in a web film. The project, titled Neel Shukh, was written and directed by Vicky Zahed, marking a significant milestone in Rehan’s career.
The web film Neel Shukh is set to be released on Valentine’s Day. Regarding this project, Mehazabien Chowdhury said, “I truly enjoyed working on the story and my character. Although it will be released on Valentine’s Day, it is quite different from a typical romantic story. It presents a unique kind of love story, ideal for viewers who seek unconventional content.”
Mehazabien on OTT Platforms and Rehan’s Performance
Speaking about the OTT platform, Mehazabien Chowdhury said, “Here, there’s creative freedom in storytelling, making the work environment quite comfortable. Although Rehan Bhai is new to acting, he has a strong desire to learn. He put in a great effort to perform well. I believe he will improve even more in the coming years. Best wishes to him.”
Her words clearly indicate that Neel Shukh is not just a simple love story but offers a unique twist that will captivate audiences. Viewers will also experience the excitement of witnessing a fresh talent like Rehan in action.
Expressing his feelings, Rehan said, “I am thrilled and excited. This is my first web film, and the joy doubled as I got to work with a beloved actress like Mehazabien Apu. Special thanks to Vicky Zahed Bhai, who first gave me the chance to play a negative role. Now, I’m playing one of the two lead characters, which is a major milestone in my career.”
Expressing gratitude toward Mehazabien, Rehan added, “Despite being such an accomplished actress, she is incredibly humble and supportive. We discussed every scene together. When something wasn’t going right, she motivated me by saying, ‘It can be a bit better.’ That was a huge encouragement for me. I am eagerly waiting for the release of Neel Shukh.”
The web film Neel Shukh will be released on Valentine’s Day on the platform Binge. It’s worth mentioning that Rehan’s first drama was Jugal, directed by Mizanur Rahman Aryan, while his second was Mayaay Joriye Rekho, directed by Shah Mohammad Rakib.
