Storyline : Marriage should never mean the end of a woman’s rights over her own body. Yet, in many societies, that boundary is blurred. In Sampurna, as Sampurna confronts the abuse Nandini suffers at her husband’s hands, she faces resistance not just from the perpetrator, but from a family bound by tradition and a society complicit in silence. The very systems meant to protect women—family, law, culture—often become barriers to justice. Sampurna’s courage challenges these norms, reminding us that marriage is not a license for control, and a woman’s autonomy must be upheld, both within and beyond the institution of marriage.
