Last year, Srabanti Chatterjee and Jeetu Kamal’s rumored love story created a buzz in Tollywood. Rumors circulated that they were dating abroad. However, it was later revealed to be a promotional stunt for their upcoming film Babu Sona, directed by Anshuman Pratyush.
The movie is finally set to release on Valentine’s Day. It belongs to the comedy genre and is expected to entertain audiences greatly.
The story revolves around Babu (Jeetu) and Sona (Srabanti), who live in London. They kidnap a child, which becomes the turning point of their encounter and drives the story in a different direction. Despite being a humorous narrative, the film includes intense action scenes as well.
Two songs from the movie have already been released. On Tuesday, the trailer of Babu Sona was launched, with Srabanti also present at the event.
During the event, Srabanti was asked, “The name Babu Sona sounds very affectionate. Who would you like to call by this name?” Srabanti laughed and said, “For now, I’ll call Jeetu that.”
The storyline of the movie features a kidnapping incident that brings Babu and Sona together. In this context, Srabanti was asked, “If you actually had a chance to kidnap someone from the industry, who would it be?”
After thinking for a moment, Srabanti burst into laughter and replied, “If I have to kidnap someone from the industry, it would probably be Jeet Da!”
The movie Babu Sona is produced by SK Movies. Along with Jeetu and Srabanti, the film also features performances by Alexandra Taylor, Payel Sarkar, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Atri Bhattacharya, Sagnik Chattopadhyay, and many others.
Kolkata media reports that Srabanti is currently in London, busy shooting for director Anshuman Pratyush’s film Babusona. Meanwhile, the poster of her new movie Rabindra Kabya Rahasya has been released. Ritwick Chakraborty shared the first look poster of the film, captioning it as “A story of a poet devoted to Rabindranath and his revenge.”
In the poster, a small portrait of Rabindranath Tagore is seen alongside his famous works Gitanjali, Sanchayita, and the Nobel Prize. However, a blood-stained knife is also visible nearby. Produced by SK Movies, Rabindra Kabya Rahasya features Sayantan Ghosal in a key role.
The story revolves around Hia and Abhik, played by Ritwick and Srabanti, respectively. Abhik is a poet who also solves mysteries. He travels to London to investigate a serial killing case, where he meets Rabindra Sangeet artist Hia. To discover whether Hia has any connection to the murder case, one must watch Rabindra Kabya Rahasya.
On the other hand, just as old hit films are being brought back to the big screen in Bollywood, Srabanti Chatterjee’s Shudhu Tomari Jonno is making its return in Bengali cinema as well. SVF has announced that this romantic film will be available for viewing on the big screen again from February 7. The announcement was made in celebration of the month and week of love.
